Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was slowly increased during week No 41 (09.10.05.2017-15.10.2017). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 67.78 (during week No 40 the incidence was 60.45). From a total of 381 659 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 2587 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 40 the cases were 2310). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (299.93 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (191.03 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 41 totally of 8 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
