Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was slowly increased during week No 42 (16.10.05.2017-22.10.2017). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 63.49 (during week No 41 the incidence was 67.78). From a total of 381 659 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 2423 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 41 the cases were 2587). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (328.70 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (173.11 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 42 totally of 11 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
