Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was slowly increased during week No 48 (27.11.05.2017-03.12.2017). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 97.70 (during week No 47 the incidence was 104.25). From a total of 381 659 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3727 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 47 the cases were 3977). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (421.29 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (314.00 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 48 totally of 45 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
