Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was increased during week No 50 (09.12.2019-15.12.2019). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 105.13 (during week No 49 the incidence was 101.74). From a total of 380 494 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 4000 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 49 the cases were 3873). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (503.83 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (317.24 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 50 totally of 19 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
