Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 52 (23.12.2019-29.12.2019). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 38.99 (during week No 51 the incidence was 97.30). From a total of 380 356 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1483 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 51 the cases were 3701). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (222.53 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (106.97 per 10,000).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 52 totally of 6 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
