Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was low during week No 2 (11.01.2021 – 17.01.2021).  The total incidence per 10,000 population was 41,38  (during week No 1 the incidence was 47,75). From a total of 378 884 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 1568 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 1 the cases were 1809). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (144.99 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (92.56 per 10,000 population).

During the 2nd week of 2021 in the NRL "Influenza and ARI" 118 samples were tested with the Real-Time PCR method for the presence of influenza virus. All are negative.
