Influenza and ARI intensity in Bulgaria was increased during week No 11 (15.03.2021 –21.03.2021). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 88,75 (during week No 10 the incidence was 70,92). From a total of 378 884 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 3057 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 10 the cases were 2687). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (391.82 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (217.54 per 10,000 population).
Information from National Reference Laboratory of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Infections at NCIPD: During week No 11 totally of 51 samples from suspect patients have been investigated in the NRL of Influenza and ARD by Real Time PCR. Positive results have not been detected.
