During the week No 42 (18.10.2021 - 24.10.2021) ARI and influenza intensity in Bulgaria was lower compared to the previous week No 41 (11.10.2021 - 17.10.2021). The total incidence per 10,000 population was 70,02 (during week No 41 the incidence was 78,07 ). From a total of 378 884 persons under surveillance, belonging to all age groups, a total of 2653 ARI cases have been reported (during week No 41 the cases were 2929). The incidence was highest in the age group 0-4 yrs (330,71 per 10,000 population), followed by age group of 5-14 yrs (222,37 per 10,000 population).
During the week № 42 all samples tested in the NRL were negative for influenza viruses. Samples obtained from children within age 0-5 ys were tested and positive results were found for other respiratory viruses (16 positive samples) and for AdV(1positive sample), AdV(2 positive samples), PIV(1positive sample).
