During week 4 (22.01.2024-28.01.2024), the level of intensity of the epidemic process of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARD) increased, with an overall incidence of 205.63 per 10 000 people (159.38 per 10 000 people for the previous week). Among the surveillance population of 364 092 persons, 7487 cases of ARI were recorded during the period (5803 in the previous week). The incidence increased in all age groups, but was epidemically high in the 0-4 age group ( 763.93 per 10,000 population) and the 5-14 age group (687.74 per 10,000 population).

The national average incidence of ARI and influenza has reached epidemic level and continues to increase.

The national reference laboratory has tested 490 samples, 156 of which were found to contain influenza A viruses (130 samples were found to contain influenza A/H1N1 (2009); 25 samples were found to contain influenza A/H3N2); influenza B/Victoria was found in 1 sample. No influenza viruses have been demonstrated in samples from children under 5 years of age, but RSV, PIV, AdV and other respiratory viruses have been isolated.
