During week 7 (12.02.2024-18.02.2024) the level of intensity of the epidemic process of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARD) is within the usual seasonal range. The incidence rate is 114.17 per 10 000 people and decreases compared to the previous week (132.22 per 10 000 people ). Among the surveillance population of 364 092 persons, 4157 cases of ARI were recorded during the period (previous week 4814). The incidence decreased in all age groups but was highest in the age groups 0-4 years (481.62 per 10 000 population) and 5-14 years (350.48 per 10 000 population).

There were no areas with epidemic values during the week. The incidence is still high in the districts of Veliko Tarnovo, Dobrich and Plovdiv. In the district of Silistra, a slight increase in morbidity was reported compared to the previous week, but it was outside epidemic values.

In the national reference laboratory, 144 samples were tested, 35 of which showed influenza A viruses (24 samples showed influenza A/H1N1 (2009) viruses; influenza A/H3N2 was shown in 7 samples); influenza B/Victoria was shown in 4 samples.
