During week No. 18 (29.04.2024-05.05.2024) a decrease in the intensity of the epidemic process of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARI) is reported. The incidence rate is 39.53 per 10,000 people (63.05 per 10,000 people in the previous week). Among the surveillance population of 364 295 persons, 1 440 cases of ARI were recorded during the period (2 297 the previous week). The weekly incidence decreased in all age groups compared to the previous week. The highest incidence was in the age groups 0-4 years (192.89 per 10 000 population) and 5-14 years (127.00 per 10 000 population). There was a slight increase in incidence in 3 districts compared to the previous week's figures. A continued decrease in incidence was observed in 22 districts, while 3 districts maintained levels similar to those of the previous week. At the national reference laboratory for influenza and ARI, 26 samples were tested in the previous week, of which influenza virus type B/Victoria was confirmed in 4.
