Week No 21

During the week No. 21 (20.05.2024-26.05.2024), a slight decrease in the intensity of the epidemic process of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARI) was reported compared to the previous week. The morbidity rate is 47.08 per 10 000 people (56.69 per 10 000 people for the previous week). Among the surveillance population of 364 295 persons, 1 715 cases of ARI were recorded during the period (2 021 in the previous week).

The weekly incidence decreased in all age groups compared to the previous week. The highest incidence was in the age groups 0-4 years (209.26 per 10,000 population) and 5-14 years (145.35 per 10,000 population). 10 districts showed a continued decrease in the incidence and 7 districts showed a persistence of levels similar to those of the previous week.

Eight samples were tested at the national reference laboratory. No influenza viruses have been isolated. No influenza viruses were demonstrated in samples from children under 5 years of age, but other (2) respiratory viruses were isolated.
