Week No 23

During the week No. 23 (03.06-09.06.2024), a decrease in the number of recorded cases of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARI) compared to the previous week was reported, respectively a lower overall morbidity and by age groups.
There were 1 640 cases in the monitored population out of a total of 364 295, an incidence of 45.02 per 10 000 population (previous week: 1 826 cases, incidence 50.12 per 10 000). The incidence in age group 0-4 years was 196,40 per 10 000 population ,and in the group 5-14 years was 133,21 per 10 000 population.  

13 samples were tested in the national reference laboratory. No influenza viruses were isolated. 

8 samples from children up to 5 years of age were tested: no influenza viruses were demonstrated but PIV(3), and other(4) respiratory viruses were isolated.
