In week 40 (30.09.-06.10.2024), 2 349 cases of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARD) were recorded in the monitored population out of a total of 364 295, an incidence rate of 64.48 per 10 000 inhabitants (previous week - 1 930 recorded cases, incidence rate 52.43 per 10 000 inhabitants). The incidence in the age group 0-4 years was 251.93 per 10 000 inhabitants and in the age group 5-14 years 199.54 per 10 000 inhabitants. The level of morbidity shows an increase compared to the previous week's indicators, but is typical for the season. Fifteen samples were tested at the national reference laboratory and no influenza viruses were isolated. No influenza viruses were detected in samples from children under 5 years of age, but AdV(1), PIV(1) and other (7) respiratory viruses were isolated.
