During the 43st week of the year (21/10-27/10/2024), a total of 2,374 cases of influenza and acute respiratory illnesses were recorded among the monitored population of 364,300 people. The number of cases reported was , with an incidence rate of 65.17 per 10,000 population, representing a slight increase from the previous week when 2,403 cases were reported with an incidence rate of 65.96 per 10,000 individuals. The incidence rate among the 0-4 age group is 282.23 per 10,000 individuals in the 0-4 age group, and in the 5-14 age group, it is 194.35 per 10,000 individuals. The level of morbidity remains within the same limits in comparison to the preceding week's figures.
It is reported that 2 samples of a total 38 tested for influenza in the NRL "Flu and ARI"/NCIPD were positive for influenza А/H1N1 (2009) and B/Victoria within reported period.The investigated samples from children under the age of five did not confirm the presence of influenza viruses. However, other respiratory viruses, including PIV (2) and (4) other types, were isolated.
