Week No 49

In week No. 49 (2-8 December 2024), 3,505 cases of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARD) were recorded among the surveillance population of 346,739, an incidence rate of 101.08 per 10,000 (previous week - 3,336 cases recorded, an incidence rate of 96.21 per 10,000 among the surveillance population of 346,739). The national incidence rate shows a slight increase compared to the previous week's figures, but is at the same level of the same week of the previous season.

The incidence rate in the 0-4 age group was 454.43 (week 48 - 414.02) per 10,000 population and in the 5-14 age group it was 301.56 (week 48 - 285.66) per 10,000 population.

In week 49, 165 clinical samples of ARI patients were tested by Real Time PCR in the Influenza and ARI NRL. There were 8 cases of influenza A(H3N2) virus, 1 case of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus.
Influenza virus(1), parainfluenza viruses(2), adenoviruses(3) and other (18 ) viruses were proven in clinical samples of children under 5 years of age. Mixed viral respiratory infections are evidenced in some patients.
