Week No 50

In week No. 50 (9-15 December 2024), 3 525 cases of influenza and acute respiratory diseases (ARD) were recorded among a surveillance population of 346 739, an incidence rate of 101.66 per 10 000 people (previous week - 3 378 recorded cases, incidence rate 97.42 per 10 000 people ). The national incidence rate shows an increase compared to the previous week, but is below the level for the same week of the previous season.

The incidence rate in the 0-4 age group is 414.65 (previous week - 434.54) per 10,000 population and in the 5-14 age group is 287.97 and remains unchanged from the previous week's indicator. The incidence increased in the age groups 15-29 and 30-64.

In the 50th week, 181 clinical samples of ARI patients were tested by Real Time PCR in the Influenza and ARI NRL. There were 9 cases of influenza A(H3N2) virus, 6 cases of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus and 3 cases of influenza B /Victoria virus. No influenza viruses were isolated in the 111 clinical specimens examined in children under 5 years of age, but other respiratory viruses were demonstrated: respiratory syncytial virus (5), parainfluenza viruses (2), adenoviruses (2) and other (18 ) viruses. Mixed viral respiratory infections have been demonstrated in some patients.
